By using three pillars of sustainability: people, planet, and profit.Īt least, that’s how design and consultancy firm Arcadis and the London-based Centre for Economic and Business Research assessed and ranked the sustainability of cities across the globe to come up with a list of the most successful and sustainable cities in the world.
Only rankings that classify cities have been selected, discarding those where Barcelona is still not top-ranked by the institution that establishes the index. In order to locate each of the rankings according to a subject, a distribution has been made by key areas of development: Culture, Sports and Creativity, Research and Knowledge, Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness, Talent, Urban Quality, Tourism, City Brand and Global Cities and Future Projection. We have worked to identify, visualize and monitor these rankings with the aim of improving the positioning of the city and make it more attractive to talent.
